According to our sources, Nintendo wants to continue the collaboration with NVIDIA, in order to produce the heir of its own best-selling Next-Gen console, the Nintendo Switch. With over 122 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch has more than doubled the sales of Sony Playstation 5 and Microsoft XBOX X/S, stuck at 17 and 22 million consoles sold respectively.
The success of the Switch was made possible by the perfect combination of video games, extreme portability and competitive price. For the next console, Nintendo would like to maintain these characteristics, also keeping the backwards compatibility of all titles, without having to suffer from expensive conversions or to deal with difficult emulations (In addition, NVIDIA doesn’t like these things, eheh).
For these reasons, the Nintendo + NVIDIA alliance will create the future Switch 2.
